Why this model suits Far North Queensland

2.7kW of cooling is enough to pull down a small or mid-size van on a humid Cassowary Coast afternoon, without drawing the current a larger unit needs.
The inverter compressor ramps up and down instead of cycling hard on and off, so it holds temperature overnight and runs quieter than the old fixed-speed units it usually replaces.
3.0kW of heating is genuinely useful on cool, wet Atherton Tablelands and winter nights inland from the coast.

Will this replace my existing rooftop air conditioner?

The CCA2700i is built to drop into the two openings used on most Australian caravans — 360×360mm or 400×400mm. If your existing unit sits in one of those, this is usually a straight replacement.

The roof unit measures approximately 1107 × 718mm, so you need that much clear, reasonably flat roof around the opening — clear of hatches, aerials, solar panels and roof rails.

Roof panel thickness must be between 20mm and 100mm. Most factory caravan roofs fall inside that, but patched or reinforced roofs can be thicker.

It runs on a normal 220–240V supply, so your existing 240V circuit is generally reused during a replacement.

Unexpected structural repairs or electrical alterations are quoted separately before we go ahead. Standard inbound freight and handling is already allowed for in the installed-from price.

Will the CCA2700i replace my old 360×360 rooftop unit?

Usually, yes. The CCA2700i is designed to suit both 360×360mm and 400×400mm roof openings, which covers the vast majority of Australian caravans. Check the roof is clear for about 1107 × 718mm around the opening and that the roof panel is 20–100mm thick.

Is 2.7kW enough for Far North Queensland?

For small to mid-size vans and pop-tops, yes — it is a common and well-proven size up here. If your van is longer than about 8.5m, or you tour with the van closed up in full sun all day, the CCA3500i is the safer choice.

Can I fit it myself?

You can buy it supply only. The electrical connection must be done by an appropriately qualified person, and the roof cut-in and sealing need to be done properly to avoid leaks. If you would rather not, we install from $2,895 inc GST.

What does the 3-year warranty cover?

The unit carries a 3-year manufacturer warranty. Warranty terms and conditions are set by the manufacturer — we handle warranty claims for units we supply.
