3.5kW — from $2,200

These sizes are deliberately more generous than standard sizing charts. In Far North Queensland's heat and humidity, an undersized unit runs flat out, costs more to run and wears out faster. High ceilings, west-facing windows and poor insulation can push you up a size — we confirm the right unit during your free on-site quote.

We install every major brand

Any brand you like — we'll source it and install it

We're not tied to any one manufacturer. Tell us the brand you want and we'll source it, supply it and install it properly. Already got a brand in mind because it's what's in the rest of the house? Easy. Not sure what to get? We'll give you an honest recommendation based on what we actually see lasting in this climate — no sales pitch.

  • Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
  • Mitsubishi Electric
  • Toshiba
  • Daikin
  • Fujitsu
  • Panasonic
  • LG
  • Samsung
  • Haier
  • Hisense
  • Kelvinator
  • Rinnai
  • ActronAir
  • Gree
  • Carrier
  • TCL

Don't see yours? Ask — we can almost certainly get it.

After years of installing across the Cassowary Coast, we've got clear favourites for our climate. Ask us what we'd put in our own house — we'll tell you straight.

We handle everything

One company, one price, one visit

A lot of people buy a unit online, then find out the hard part is everything that comes next — finding a licensed installer, organising an electrician, working out what size they actually needed, and sorting the paperwork so the warranty holds up. We just do the lot.

What we take care of

  • Working out the right size for your room, your ceiling height and our humidity — before anything is ordered
  • Sourcing and supplying the unit, whatever brand you'd like
  • The install, done by ARC-licensed and ARCtick-certified technicians (Lic. L194280) so your manufacturer warranty stays intact
  • The electrical side, organised with our own trusted licensed electrician on the same day
  • Safe refrigerant handling and commissioning to manufacturer spec
  • Taking the old unit away and disposing of it properly
  • Showing you how to run it properly before we leave

One quote. One invoice. One mob to call if you ever need anything. And because we're local, if something needs looking at down the track, we're twenty minutes up the road — not a call centre in another state.

Already bought a unit somewhere else? No worries — we'll install it for you, as long as it's brand new with its warranty paperwork. Just tell us the model when you get a quote.

Coastal protection — salt air eats aircons

Living near the beach? Salt air eats air conditioners. We apply Action HVAC-R corrosion protection spray to your outdoor unit — $132 including GST — and we strongly recommend it for homes close to the water. It's the cheapest insurance you'll ever buy for a new unit.

Why the right size matters

In the tropics, your aircon is also a dehumidifier

Your split system doesn't just cool the air — it pulls water out of it. A small 2.5kW unit removes roughly a litre an hour; a large 8kW unit removes around three litres an hour. In Cassowary Coast humidity that dehumidifying work is half the reason a room feels comfortable — and it's why an undersized unit leaves you feeling sticky even when the thermometer says it should be fine.

Upfront & honest

What might cost extra

Every home is different. Here's what can push a package price up — we always confirm in your free on-site quote before starting work.

  • Additional refrigeration piping beyond 3 metres

Longer indoor-to-outdoor runs need extra insulated copper, conduit and cable — quoted by the metre on the day.

  • Two-storey homes or difficult access

Working at height, tiled roofs, tight ceiling cavities or awkward outdoor positions all take longer and are quoted honestly upfront.

  • Electrical switchboard upgrades

If your switchboard is older or full, it may need work first. We'll spot it during the free quote and sort it out with our electrician — no chasing anyone yourself.

  • Removal and disposal of your old unit

We can decommission the old unit, recover the refrigerant safely under our ARC licence and take it away — added to your quote.

  • Premium brands and models

Package prices are our entry-level fully installed price. Higher-spec units and premium brands are quoted alongside so you can compare.

  • Dedicated circuit for units above 3.5kW

Systems 5kW and above need a dedicated circuit, which we arrange with our licensed electrician as part of the same job — $350–$450 typical for runs up to 10 metres, always confirmed in your quote before we start.

We'd rather tell you now than surprise you on the day.

What happens on the day

From quote to cool — the four steps

  1. 1

Free on-site quote & sizing check

We come to your home, measure up, check power and access, and confirm the right kW for your space.

  2. 2

    One fixed price agreed

You get a written, all-inclusive quote with nothing hidden. What we quote is what you pay.

  3. 3

    Supply & install

Usually 3 to 5 hours for a single system. Multi-heads and complex jobs are booked as a full day.

  4. 4

    Test, commission & handover

We commission the unit to manufacturer spec, walk you through how to run it, and clean up before we leave.

Replacing an old unit

Time to replace instead of install new?

Not sure whether it's time? The usual signs are an aircon that won't cool properly even after a clean, rising power bills, or a major repair quote that's crept past a third of a new install. Modern inverter splits use far less power than older non-inverter units in FNQ conditions, and we take the old unit away and dispose of it responsibly under our ARC licence.

Signs it's time

  • Not cooling properly, even after a clean and service
  • Power bills climbing year on year
  • Repair quote is more than a third of a new install
  • Unit is 10+ years old and non-inverter

FAQ

Split system install questions

What size air conditioner do I need for my room?
In Far North Queensland we size a step more generously than southern-state charts because of humidity and heat load. As a guide: small bedroom (9–17 m²) 2.5kW; large bedroom or small living (18–25 m²) 3.5kW; living (26–35 m²) 5kW; large living or open-plan (36–50 m²) 7.1kW; large open-plan (50–60 m²) 8kW; very large open-plan (60–70 m²) 9kW. High ceilings, west-facing glazing and poor insulation can push you up a size, which we confirm during the free on-site quote.
Which brands of air conditioner do you install?
All the major brands — Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi Electric, Toshiba, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, LG, Samsung, Haier, Hisense, Kelvinator, Rinnai, ActronAir, Gree, Carrier and TCL. If you have a specific brand in mind, ask — we can almost certainly get it. We do not install second-hand units.
Can you install a brand I've already bought?
Yes. If you've already purchased a unit we're happy to install it, provided it's brand new and comes with its full manufacturer warranty documentation. We'll check the model on-site during the free quote so we can confirm circuit, pipe and mounting requirements before the day.
Can I just buy a unit online and get you to install it?
Absolutely, and we do it regularly — as long as it's brand new with its warranty documentation. Just tell us the model when you get your quote so we can check the pipe, circuit and mounting requirements beforehand. Worth knowing though: once you add an installer and an electrician to an online purchase, the total often lands close to our package price anyway, and you've had to organise three lots of people instead of one. Happy to price it both ways so you can compare.
What's included in the package price?
Every package includes installation by ARC-licensed technicians (Lic. L194280), a single-storey back-to-back install, up to 3 metres of refrigeration piping and interconnecting cables, a weatherproof isolator at the outdoor unit, full testing and commissioning, and coverage across Mission Beach, Tully, Innisfail, Kurrimine Beach, Cardwell, El Arish and Silkwood. All prices include GST and are our entry-level supply-and-install price for that capacity.
Do I need a new electrical circuit?
The 2.5kW and 3.5kW systems run off your existing power supply, so there's no need to run a separate circuit. From 5kW up, the unit needs its own dedicated circuit — and we organise that for you. Our trusted licensed electrician works alongside us on the day, so you're not chasing separate trades or juggling appointments. It's typically $350–$450 for cable runs up to 10 metres, and it's included in the one fixed quote we give you. One company, one price, one visit.
How long does an installation take?
A single back-to-back split system usually takes 3 to 5 hours from arrival to commissioning. Longer pipe runs, two-storey homes, awkward outdoor positions or electrical work can push it out. Multi-head systems are typically a full day — we'll tell you exactly what to expect at quote stage.
Do you protect units against salt air?
Yes. For homes near the beach we strongly recommend Action HVAC-R corrosion protection spray on the outdoor unit — $132 including GST. Salt air destroys aircon fins and coils fast in FNQ, and this is genuinely the cheapest insurance you'll ever buy for a new system.
Can you replace my old unit and take it away?
Yes. We safely decommission your old unit, recover the refrigerant to regulation under our ARC licence, and remove and dispose of the head and condenser responsibly. You're not left with the old unit sitting in the yard.
Do you install in Tully, Innisfail and Cardwell?
Yes. Our full service area covers Mission Beach, Tully, Innisfail, Kurrimine Beach, Cardwell, El Arish and Silkwood. There's no travel surcharge inside this area — we're a local Cassowary Coast business.
