How much does air conditioning cleaning cost?

Here's our full price list. These are the same figures you'll see when you book online — no phone-only pricing, no "from" price that quietly doubles on the day.

Travel outside Mission Beach may be quoted separately. Commercial sites and larger multi-building jobs are quoted per site — see commercial air conditioning.

What actually changes the price of an aircon clean?

Two houses in the same street can get different quotes. These are the things that move the number, and why.

• Unit type — a cassette in the ceiling takes far longer to open, clean and reassemble than a wall-mounted split.
• Number of units — the second and third unit at one address is cheaper, because travel and setup are already covered.
• Condition — a unit that hasn't been touched in five wet seasons needs more chemical, more flushing and more time than one cleaned last year.
• Access — high walls, tight roof cavities, ladder work or a unit above a stairwell all add labour.
• Location — jobs well outside Mission Beach may carry a separate travel quote.
• Caravan and RV work — rooftop units mean working at height on a van roof, so they're priced higher.

Do you discount multiple units?

Yes. Most of the cost of any job is getting a licensed tech and a full kit of equipment to your door. Once we're there, each extra head or unit costs us less to do — so multi-head and multi-unit jobs at the same address are discounted. If you've got three splits, book them together and you'll pay noticeably less than three separate visits.

Why is a cheap clean not really a clean?

If someone quotes you well under $100 a unit, ask exactly what's included. In most cases it's a filter wash and a wipe of the front louvres. That's a ten-minute job you can do yourself — see our filter cleaning guide.

A proper hydro-clean means:

• The indoor unit is bagged so water and grime can't hit your wall or floor.
• The evaporator coil is pressure-flushed, not wiped.
• The barrel fan is deep-cleaned — this is where most of the mould lives.
• An anti-bacterial sanitiser treatment is applied and flushed through.
• The condensate drain line is cleared and flushed so it stops dripping.
• Running temps are checked afterwards so you know it's actually performing.

Is an aircon clean cheaper than a repair?

Almost always. A blocked, filthy coil makes the system work harder, run warmer and draw more power — which shortens the life of the compressor and the fan motor. How often should you pay for a clean in the tropics?
